As part of a collaboration with Berlin-based DJ, Phon.o, and a team put together at Berlin Music Hack Day 2014, we developed Resonate – a system to visualise members of a crowd or audience at live gigs.
People connect to the installation via their smartphones, and then their motion data is used to influence the visuals on the live projections behind the performer.
The background visuals are also closely tied to the sonic elements of the music via a custom written Max For Live and Jitter visuals system, meaning that when the performer improvises with his Live set, the visuals automatically match the music.
